Google Chrome OS Peak

chrome-osGoogle did mention to expect an early version of their operating system, soon. They did stick to thier promise and offered a development snapshot of thier upcoming operating system today. As speculated the operating system is the chrome browser on steroids, it seems that the whole interface is web browser centric. There will be no conventional applications, all the apps run on the OS is said to be web applications.

Presumably the Google Chrome OS will be linked to your Google account which therefore opens new doors to user portability, as one can log into any Chrome OS netbook and use their own setting and access their own data. It would make perfect sense, in terms of how web apps operate and also in terms of how the Google account had grown into such a predominant entity in terms of online usage and services.

The operating system is most definitely a fresh take on desktop computing, the interface and controls are configured unlike any other OS out there. The operating system is primarily geared towards netbooks with its small screen friendly layout and web centric operation, however since it is linux based and open source, it is incredibly adaptable, it wont be long before the system is adapted to other architectures.

The google operating system is said to boot significantly faster than conventional operating system due to its striped down boot sequence, as shown bellow:

Linux is already a a fast operating system by nature, coupled with Google’s innovation, the Chrome OS will surely be a speedy and efficient operating system, even on lower powered systems.

Exciting times lie ahead for linux and open source, open source is inevitably become more and more mainstream, innovating beyond that of what propriety can’t even begin to.
