5 Years of Firefox, A Testement To Open Source Potential

Firefox 3.6 Beta 2 Now Avalaible

ffb2Firefox 3.6 beta 2 is now avalaible for download. Note that although beta’s are reasonably stable there are still bugs and therefore are not intended for production usage. The new 3.6 version brings along with it many new improvements and features that were meant for 3.5. Along with about 190 bug fixes.

Firefox 4 Proposals

While the open source community is still working on Firefox 3.7, the community hasn’t hesitated to begin proposals for the next major milestone of Firefox’s evolution, Firefox 4.0. According to these screen shots, the developers appear to be struggling with the decision of placing the tabs above, like Google Chrome, or leaving them in their current position. Another welcome change illustrated in these screen shots show the duel function stop/reload button which is a much welcomed addition as it reduces tool bar clutter and possibly increases usability.
